Hero MotoCorp announces its sales report for February 2022. The world’s largest two-wheeler maker sold a total of 3.58 lakh units of vehicles for the given month. This figure includes both domestic and export sales. Hero mentioned that the decline in Covid-19 cases has helped kickstart the opening up of the economy.
In addition to this, there are other positive indicators like the easing of lockdown restrictions FY ’23 Union Budget that is helping in the revival of the sales. Given the rising demand for electric vehicles in the country, Hero MotoCorp is taking some giant steps. Recently, the two-wheeler maker tied up with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) to set up charging infrastructure. This charging infrastructure for two-wheeled electricity will help vehicles (EVs) across the country greatly.
Detailed Sales Analysis
For the motorcycle segment, Hero MotoCorp sold a total of 3,38,454 units for February 2022. The same for February 2021, stood at 4,63,723 units. In the scooter segment, Hero MotoCorp posted a total sales of 19,800 vehicles, down from 41,744 units for the same period last year. With the opening up of businesses, the export figure is on the rise. The figure rose from 21,034 units in February 2021, to 26,792 units for February 2022.
Hero MotoCorp’s CSR Initiatives
The company has announced a slew of CSR initiatives aimed towards providing relief to fight Covid-19. For Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat, Hero MotoCorp announced a welfare package for nearly 200 Covid-19 affected families. Under the initiative of ‘Hero We Care’, the company aims to support children who lost their parents or guardians or women who lost their spouses to Covid-19.
Alongside all this, Hero MotoCorp continues to provide essential services to these children. This includes food, nutrition and education for the children. For women, Hero MotoCorp is also taking up initiatives to help them get employed and earn their own living. For Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Haryana, Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat, Hero MotoCorp has supported close to 500 Covid affected families.
