Hero MotoCorp announces its price hike that will be effective from September 20, 2021. The company mentioned that the increase in commodity prices led them to take this decision. The price hike will range across Hero MotoCorp’s portfolio with an increase in price up to INR 3,000. The exact amount will depend on the model and the market. For the month of August 2021, Hero MotoCorp sold a total of 4,53,879 units. With the increase in vaccination and opening up of businesses, sales are starting to show a positive trend. The company also mentioned that they hope this upcoming festive season will further improve the sales.
Hero MotoCorp’s Plan For The EV Segment
The world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer has its plans for the ever-evolving EV segment. In the recent virtual celebration of Hero MotoCorp completing 10 years, the company teased their new electric scooter. From the looks of it, the scooter has an aerodynamic nose with a neatly integrated apron mounted LED headlamp. The scooter looks to have telescopic front suspension on the front.
As per current standards, the electric scooter will most likely come with a digital instrument cluster and connected vehicle features. As we know, Hero MotoCorp has its stake at Ather Energy. And it is imperative to believe that both the companies will share their technologies. Thus, we expect the Hero MotoCorp’s scooter to share the motor and battery with Ather. There’s no official date as to when this electric scooter will make it to the market. But, rumours suggest that Hero MotoCorp will launch the scooter before the end of this year.

Hero MotoCorp has partnered with Gogoro, which is a Taiwan-based battery swapping technology company. This makes us believe that Hero MotoCorp is also looking to bring this tech to India. Gogoro and Hero MotoCorp can build up a strategic plan to develop a wide and robust battery-swapping network in the country. This will help in the development of electric vehicles that have been in much demand recently.
