Giving a fresh flair of change to its model lineup, Citroen India has released a new Dark Edition update for the C3 hatchback, C3 Aircross SUV, and Basalt crossover. Read below the complete details of the new changes, including the price.

Citroen C3, C3 Aircross, Basalt Dark Edition details
Catering to the popular demand for black SUVs and black edition cars among new buyers, Citroen has added an all-black theme to its model lineup.
The primary change is the new Perla Nera Black paint job, which further matches the gloss black contrast parts around the body. These include the blacked-out front grille and DARK badges on the front quarter panels.
On the inside, Citroen has added an all-black leather theme, called Metropolitan Black, along with Lava Red stitching on the seats and the leather-wrapped steering wheel.
Additionally, the C3 Aircross and Basalt feature an all-black gear shift lever, ambient and footwell lighting, leather cushions with a Citroen badge, and illuminated door sills. The dashboard is also leather-equipped now, thus giving both models an upmarket and premium feel.
Apart from the cosmetic changes, the powertrain and hardware remain unchanged on all three models. Mind you, the C3 is equipped with a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, 80 bhp/109 bhp (for the turbo variants) engine options, which are mated to a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Meanwhile, the C3 Aircross and Basalt are offered with the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine only, which makes 109 bhp and 205 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively.

C3 Dark Edition price
The C3 hatchback Dark Edition is priced at Rs 8.38 lakh (ex-showroom).
C3 Aircross Dark Edition price
The bigger C3 Aircross SUV Dark Edition is offered at Rs 13,13,300 (ex-showroom) for the manual variant and Rs 14,27,300 (ex-showroom) for the automatic variant. These are priced at a premium of Rs 22,500 over their standard variant counterparts.
Basalt Dark Edition price
The Basalt crossover Dark Edition is priced at Rs 12.80 lakh (ex-showroom) for the manual variant and Rs 14.10 lakh (ex-showroom) for the automatic variant. This makes the Black Edition Basalt Rs 23,000 costly than its standard models.

Our verdict
Despite curating good products that offer a comfortable cabin experience, Citroen is currently facing low sales. The C3, C3 Aircross, and Basalt have been witnessing a continuous downfall in sales. The Dark Edition is a hopeful ray of light that might revive the sales for the French carmaker in India.
