Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has announced a voluntary recall for its CB300R motorcycles, citing issues with the headlamp unit. The recall has been issued for models manufactured between 2018 and 2020 and is part of a global exercise aimed at addressing potential safety concerns.
What is the issue?
The issue lies in the internal PCB structure of the headlamp assembly, which could lead to flickering or complete shutdown of the headlight. Honda has identified that the core wires may suffer fatigue breaks at the root of the terminals, compromising the functionality of the headlamp. While the company has not reported any customer complaints or injuries related to the defect, it has decided to proactively replace the faulty component as a precautionary measure.
