In the recent past, we revealed that CFMoto could be planning to launch a new sports bike based on CFMoto’s SR-C21 concept motorcycle. The brand revealed the concept study at the CFMOTO riding training academy in Shanghai city. The concept study not only stole the spotlight on social media but also on October 16, when the motorcycle made its presence in the flesh. Now, the production model based on the SR-C21 Concept has finally broken cover. Dubbed the CFMoto 450SR, the model will be positioned above the sporty 300SR that went on sale in the European market last year.
CFMoto 450SR Sportbike – Design and Styling
The CFMoto 450 SR Sportbike comes with a familiarly sharp fascia, a design that draws inspiration from the SR-C21 Concept. The motorcycle features an aggressive front with a muscular profile and a sleek tail section. The CFMoto 450SR follows the high-tail low-nose design philosophy, which will help the bike to compete with the Yamaha R3 and the KTM RC390 in the international market. The motorcycle comes with a split LED headlamp, unique DRLs, an aerodynamic fairing with integrated aero wings and a sculpted fuel tank. The bike also features a windscreen that keeps the rider safe from wind blasts.
CFMoto 450sR Sportbike – Technical Specifications
The CFMoto SR-C21 concept comes with a new engine and brand-new frame, which will be carry-forwarded to the 450SR. Powering the 450SR will be a 449cc liquid-cooled engine that produces 50 Hp of power. The engine is said to be powerful enough to propel the motorcycle to a top speed of 190 kmph. To put things into perspective, the KTM RC390 comes with a 374cc engine that produces 44 Hp of power.
In the concept form, the SR-C21 came with high-specification components such as Ohlins fully adjustable inverted front fork suspension, Brembo radial master cylinder for the front brake, large front floating brake disc, Brembo 4-piston radial callipers and an SC-Project full exhaust system among others. Of course, these may not be available on the production-spec model but could be available as an accessory.
