Brixton Motorcycles, in association with KAW Veloce Motors, has launched the Crossfire 500XC Scrambler bike in India at a price of INR 5.19 lakh (ex-showroom). The motorcycle is a neo-retro scrambler version of the Crossfire 500X, designed to cater to adventure enthusiasts and off-road riders. KAW Veloce Motors will be bringing more Brixton products and other brands under the MotoHaus umbrella.
Crossfire 500XC Powertrain and Features
The Crossfire 500XC is powered by a 486 cc, parallel-twin motor that produces 47 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 43 Nm of torque at 6,750 rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox, ensuring smooth and responsive performance. The bike features 19-inch front and 17-inch rear tubeless spoke wheels wrapped in dual-purpose tyres, enhancing its off-road capabilities.
The suspension setup includes fully adjustable KYB upside-down forks at the front and a rear monoshock with preload and rebound adjustability. The braking system comprises a 320 mm front disc and a 240 mm rear disc with J.Juan callipers, providing reliable stopping power. The bike also comes equipped with LED lighting and dual-channel ABS from Bosch for added safety.
Design
Visually, the Crossfire 500XC sports a modern-retro scrambler styling with a high-set beak fender, stubby visor, and a headlamp guard. The racing number plate on the side panels completes the scrambler look. The bike also features a radiator guard and a sporty tail section.
Brixton’s decision to launch the Crossfire 500XC aligns with its strategy to offer high-performance, versatile motorcycles in the Indian market. The bike’s central double-cradle frame and high ground clearance make it an ideal choice for tackling challenging terrains.
Our Thoughts
The Brixton twins look like purpose-built motorcycles with solid Austrian build quality. The sub 500cc segment is the sweet spot in the Indian market and Brixton seems to be targetting that first. The motorcycles look impressive on paper and we will have to wait and see how they fare in the real world. Another thing to watch out is the aftersales support that MotoHaus will provide.
