BMW India has launched the brand’s first electric all-wheel drive vehicle in India at the price of INR 1.15 Crore ex-showroom. The new technology flagship vehicles of the BMW Group will take ahead the sustainable and responsible commitment along with BMW’s ‘Sheer Driving Pleasure’. The new BMW iX features monolithic exterior styling and a modern minimalistic cockpit. The electric SUV also comes with cleverly integrated technology dubbed Shy Tech and instant acceleration with a long 425 km battery range.
BMW has revealed that the iX electric SUV will be brought to the Indian soil via the completely built-up unit (CBU) route. Enthusiasts can now book the EV through BMW dealerships across major metropolitan cities in India. Customers can also book the iX via BMW’s digital sales channels as well by logging onto shop.bmw.in. BMW India has revealed that the deliveries on the iX will begin from April 2022. The BMW iX xDrive40 comes with an introductory price of – INR 1,15,90,000 ex-showroom.
BMW iX xDrive40 – Design and Colours
BMW offers the iX with a sculptural and monolithic design language. The BMW iX comes with an imposing blank-out BMW grille and the narrowest BMW headlights ever. The iX comes with a 3D bonnet and rectangular wheel arches. The car also comes with flared shoulder area and slim one-piece rear lights. BMW offers metallic paint in – Mineral White, Phytonic Blue, Black Sapphire and Sophisto Grey. The BMW iX xDrive40 is also optionally available in BMW Individual Aventurine Red metallic paint finish. The brand also offers exclusive olive-leaf tanned natural leather upholstery with ‘Interior Design Suite’ featuring a Castanea colour scheme.
BMW iX xDrive40 – Shy Tech
The EV also gets muscular sides’ Shy Tech’ on the exteriors and interiors. Shy Tech is stealth technology that keeps the features on the exterior and interior hidden until it is put in use. This includes an Intelligent BMW kidney grille with sensors, camera and radar tech. The car also comes with proximity sensors in body edging and flush door openers. Shy Tech also includes a washer under the front logo and a camera with a washer in the rear logo. Stealth Technology also includes integrated speakers, BMW Head-Up Display’s projector recessed into the instrument panel, among others.
BMW iX xDrive40 – Technical Specifications
Powering the BMW iX xDrive40 is a fifth-generation BMW eDrive technology. The highly integrated drive unit consists of a single-speed transmission and power electronics. The power unit consists of two electric motors – one each for the front and rear axles. The power unit helps the EV accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 6.1 seconds. The car also comes with an output of 326 hp, channelling power through an all-wheel-drive system. The iX xDrive40 comes with Two high-voltage batteries integrated into the floor. The battery has a combined capacity of 76.6 kWh and provides a range of up to 425 kilometres.
BMW iX xDrive40 – Features
The BMW iX xDDrive40 comes with features such as a 12.3-inch digital information display and a 14.9-inch Control Display. The car also comes with BMW ConnectedDrive technology and a BMW Head-up Display. The brand also offers BMW Virtual Assistant and BMW Natural Interaction. The BMW iX xDrive40 also comes with Wireless Charging technology, CarPlay/Android Auto, Harman Kardon Surround Sound System, Parking Assistant Plus and Reversing Assistant.
BMW iX xDrive40 – Warranty
BMW offers the iX with a standard two-year warranty for unlimited kilometres. The EV also comes with a warranty valid for eight years or up to 160,000 kilometres.
