BMW has revealed the new BMW iX M60, the brand’s first electric ‘M’ SUV. The iX M60 is the second M Performance electric car, the first being the BMW i4 M50 sedan, which made its debut last year in the international market. With 620 Hp of power on tap and 1100 Nm of torque, which some say can destabilise the Earth’s rotation, the BMW iX M60 is the brand most powerful electric SUV yet. The BMW iX M60 comes with M Performance exteriors and special features on the inside to differentiate the M cars from the standard.
BMW iX M60 – Exteriors and Interiors
The BMW iX M60 comes with an aluminium space frame and a carbon cage with carbon fibre-reinforced plastic. The brand also offers blue M-branded brake callipers with glossy ‘M’ logos. The gloss black and titanium bronze M logos place themselves on the front, side panels and rear. Compared to the standard iX, the M60 also comes with larger alloy wheels. The electric car on the inside features a similar curved display like the standard iX, equipped with BMW’s eighth-generation iDrive operating system. The interiors also come with FSC-certified wood, leather tanned with olive leaf extract. Among natural materials, the brand is also using recycled fishing nets for floor coverings and mats.
BMW iX M60 – Technical Specifications
Powering the BMW iX M60 is an all-wheel-drive electric powertrain with 540 Hp of power and 1,015 Nm of torque during standard driving. But in sports mode and launch control, the EV makes 619 Hp of power and 1,100 Nm of torque. BMW claims that the iX M60 can sprint from 0-100 kmph in just 3.9 seconds. The BMW iX M50 comes with 575km of driving on a full charge. This means the extra power is slightly less than the iX xDrive 50. However, compared to the iX xDrive 40, which is on sale in India since December, the iX M60 develops 294 Hp of power and 470 Nm of torque.
BMW iX M60 – India Launch
The BMW iX M60 could soon be launched in India in limited numbers to add to the appeal of the all-electric iX range. The BMW iX is available in India at the price of INR 1.16 Crore ex-showroom.
