Benelli has taken the wraps off its latest naked roadster. The BKS 250 S is a stylish quarter-litre bike. The Italian brand unveiled the new bike at the EICMA Show in Milan, Italy.
Design of the Benelli BKX 250 S
The bike looks very futuristic when compared to the current generation motorcycles. It gets sharp angular panels all around. At the front, the BKX 250 S gets a vertically stacked dual-pod headlamp with twin LED DRLs on either side. It also receives an angular fuel tank, one-piece seat, tall upward-swept exhaust, and exposed frame elements. Benelli has given contrast paint (highlights) on body panels as well as wheels. On the backside, the turn signals get integrated brake lights.
In terms of structure, the bike gets a tubular steel trellis frame. At the front, there is a 41 mm upside-down fork, while a mono-shock handles the rear duties. The brakes consist of a single 280 mm disk with quad-piston callipers at the front and a 240 mm disc with a single-piston calliper at the back. Benelli has offered 17-inch alloys with the BKX 250 S. They are shod in 110/70-section and 150/60-section rubber at the front and back, respectively.
In terms of features, the BKX 250 S gets a 13.5-litre fuel tank, full-LED lighting, an LCD instrument cluster and a USB port for charging.
Engine and transmission of the Benelli BKX 250 S
Benelli will offer this new motorcycle with the current 250 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that is also available in other quarter-litre bikes in the Benelli stable. It has been tweaked to now offer 25.8 BHP @ 9,250 rpm and a peak torque of 21 Nm @ 8,000 rpm. The engine is meshed with a 6-speed gearbox. Benelli will also provide this bike with a 125cc engine in specific markets.
Pricing and availability of the Benelli BKX 250 S
Benelli has said that the BKX 250 S will be available internationally by mid-2023 with all Benelli dealers. That said, Benelli has not yet shared the plans for the Indian launch.
