Aprilia has launched the new GPR250 in the Chinese market. The Italian motorcycle manufacturer retails the new Aprilia GPR250 at CNY 26,800, which roughly translates to INR 3.10 lakh in India. The quarter-litre motorcycle positions itself above the Aprilia GPR150. The 150cc iteration retails in the Chinese market at CNY 20.980 for the non-ABS version and CNY 22,980 for ABS.
Aprilia GPR250 – Design Highlights
The Aprilia GPR250 draws its design inspiration from the litre-class Aprilia RSV4. The quarter-litre bike features Aprilia’s hallmark triple headlamp units and sharp aerodynamic bodywork. The motorcycle comes with a race-style windscreen and aero winglets integrated into the body. The bike also comes with a chiselled fuel tank design, step-up seats and follows the high-tail-low-nose design language. The tail end of the motorcycle is sharp and sleek and comes with an A-shape LED taillamp. The bike also features rear-set footpegs and clip-on handlebars. These enable the rider to take a low-set racing position, optimising control over the motorcycle.
Aprilia GPR250 – Engine & Mechanical Specifications
Powering the Aprilia GPR250 is a 250cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. The electronically fuel-injected engine with a DOHC valve distribution system can produce 27.7 PS of power and 21.5 Nm of torque. The engine comes with a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch. The motorcycle comes with premium mechanical parts such as a double-wing beam aluminium frame, an upside-down front fork, an aluminium swingarm and disc brakes on both ends. The motorcycle also features 17-inch alloy wheels shod in road-biased tyres.

The Aprilia GPR250 features LED headlamps and taillamps and a TFT LCD screen which shows a plethora of information. The dashboard offers information such as a bar-graph style tachometer, a speedometer with digital readouts, a gear position indicator, odometer, clock, battery level indicator, ambient temperature, engine temperature fuel etc.
Will Aprilia bring the GPR250 to the Indian market?
While Aprilia was reportedly evaluating the RS150 and the Tuono 150 for India in the past. The brand appears to have later shelved the plans for the future. Currently, there are no reports of Aprilia evaluating the GPR250 for the Indian market. But the Italian motorcycle maker is likely to bring a premium motorcycle to compete in the middleweight category.
