Aprilia officially reveals RS125 & Tuono 125 motorcycles

Aprilia has officially revealed the new RS125 and Tuono 125 in the international market. The motorcycles come with a new design language, advanced electronic features, new ergonomics, and a new Euro5 compliant engine. The Aprilia RS 125 and Tuono 125 also feature new paint liveries inspired by the RS 660 and Tuono 660.

Design & Styling

The 2021 Aprilia RS 125 features the latest generation design language from the Italian brand. The motorcycle appears to draw inspiration from the Aprilia RS 660. The Aprilia RS 125 features the same tapered styling on the front with new aerodynamic inclusions and new body graphics. The motorcycle comes with the brand’s hallmark triple headlamp setup but, sleeker than before. The RS 125 also features a sleek tail, chiselled fuel tank and sporty seating with clip-on handlebars mounted 18 mm higher than before for comfort. The Aprilia RS 125 also comes with a bubble windscreen and fairing-mounted mirrors.

The 2021 Aprilia Tuono 125 draws its design inspiration from the Tuono 660. The motorcycle comes with a half fairing that features an aerodynamic front end. The Tuono 125 also features the triple headlamp set up a signature feature on Aprilia motorcycles. The Tuono 125 gets a chopped windscreen and straight handlebars. The seat has also been designed ergonomically with comfort in mind. The straight bench seat tapers at the rear end to give the motorcycle a sporty look. The Tuono 125 also gets a belly cowling completing its half-naked looks.

Features

Both motorcycles come with a full LED lighting system with the front turn indicators integrated into the headlamps. The motorcycles also get 14.5 litres tank capacity and a large under-seat compartment that can not just hold an 8-inch tablet but also comes with a USB charging point. The motorcycles also come with an options electronic quick shift system. Both the RS 125 and the Tuono 125 come with Bosch dual-channel ABS and a tip-over system during emergency braking.

Electronic Features

The Aprilia RS 125 and the Tuono 125 come with a completely new electronics package. This includes a new fully digital instruments cluster that displays fuel gauge, instantaneous & average consumption and distance to empty. The display also comes with a white or light blue backlit colour option. It is also ready for the Aprilia MIA multimedia platform. This means the user can connect the display using Bluetooth technology turning it into an onboard computer.

Powertrain

Powering the Aprilia RS 125 and Tuono 125 is a new single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with four-valve timing. The brand has worked on the thermodynamics of the engine. The new engine also comes with a new combustion chamber, new intake and exhaust ducts and a new iridium spark plug. The motorcycle also features a new Marelli MIUG4 ECU.

Colour

The Aprilia RS 125 features two paint themes – Aprilia Black and Sintesi Blue. The RS 125 will also be available in the GP Replica version with quick-shifter and seat cowl as standard. The paint livery draws inspiration from the Aprilia RS-GP MotoGP bikes. The Tuono 125 comes with three paint themes – Aprilia Black, Lightning White and Arrow Grey.
