We have more information on the much-awaited Hyundai all-new Verna. The Korean carmaker recently released the first set of teasers for its sedan. We know that the all-new Verna will hit Indian roads by May 2023. Currently, interested customers can avail of booking for the new Verna at INR 25,000. With this, Hyundai has also revealed information on the new Verna’s powertrain and variants.
More Updates With The New Verna
In terms of design, we get to see some radical changes. This will act as the key difference when compared to the outgoing model. As for the powertrains, Hyundai India mentioned that Verna will get two engines. Both are 1.5-litre petrol engines. First is a new 1.5-litre direct injection turbo-petrol. This will make around 160 HP. Gearbox options include either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT. Second is a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol. This is an entry-level engine for the Verna and will come with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or an IVT CVT automatic. The headline is that there is no diesel engine option on the next-gen Hyundai Verna.
Variants And Colour Shades
As far as variants go, the new Verna will retail in EX, S, SX and SX(O) trims. We expect Hyundai to use the 1.5-litre TGDI engine on the higher trims, while entry-level trims will make do with the 1.5-litre NA unit. As for the new colour shade options, we have three new paint options. These are Abyss Black, Atlas White, and Tellurian Brown.
Pricing Details
As of now, we do not have the exact price details. Thus, we assume Hyundai will reveal more details on the new Verna in the coming days. Once launched, this new Verna will rival the other C-segment options in the market.
