Volkswagen India has launched its second car to use the MQB A0 IN platform in India, the Virtus sedan. The Virtus joins the Taigun SUV in the Volkswagen lineup and aims to revive the sedan segment. The other models to use the MQB A0 IN platform are Skoda’s Slavia and Kushaq. The all-new 2022 Volkswagen Virtus will also be the longest car in the segment. Thus, it also offers improved rear space comfort over its predecessor, the Vento.
Volkswagen opened the booking for the Virtus long back. The company also started previews for the sedan across the country some time back. The pan India campaign preview program aimed to create an exclusive opportunity for customers to experience the Virtus.

2022 Volkswagen Virtus – Powertrain
Like the other models which use the MQB A0 IN platform, the Virtus will also come with two engine options. These include a 1.0-litre TSI and a 1.5-litre TSI EVO. The transmission options will also be identical to the other MQB A0 IN models. Thus, it will come with a 6-speed manual, 6-speed torque converter automatic and a 7-speed Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG).
