Yamaha has brought in two new editions of its famous adventure motorcycle. This is the Tenere 700. This middleweight ADV has been a blockbuster hit in the European market. Thus to keep the customers engaged, Yamaha has now come up with these two new editions – Extreme and Explore.
Yamaha Tenere 700 Brief Overview
The Extreme Edition equips a fully adjustable KYB suspension at both ends. With this, both sides now get 20mm more travel than the standard motorcycle. This setup has also added to the ground clearance that now reads at 260mm. The overall seat height has also been increased to 910mm. All thanks to the 20mm more padding on the seat. The motorcycle now also benefits from upgrades like non-slip titanium footpegs, a 5-inch TFT instrument cluster, an aluminium chain guard, radiator guards, and a high-enduro-style front fender.
Yamaha Tenere 700 Key Styling Highlights
The Tenere 700 Explore Edition is more for road riders. Thus it benefits from a lowered seat and a suspension setup. This gives out lesser suspension travel and, thus, lower seat height. But with the KYB suspension on this model, it takes away 20mm of travel from the front and the back. The seat height figure now stands at 860mm. This model also equips a larger windscreen for that high-speed run and wind buffeting. Depending on the requirement, customers can also opt to choose hard and soft saddlebags. There’s also a quick-shifter for this model if the rider wants more comfort.
Yamaha Tenere 700 Engine Highlights
The mechanical specifications remain unaltered on this motorcycle. This ADV continues with the 689cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine. This motor produces 72.4bhp at 9,000rpm and 68 Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. The motor gets a six-speed gearbox.
Yamaha Tenere 700 India Launch Plans
The Tenere 700 is the perfect motorcycle for the Indian market. But it seems, Yamaha now has no plans for the Indian market. This is because of the import restrictions. Currently, the Tenere 700 is only made in France. And thus importing that bike will attract huge import duties, making it impractical to launch it here.
