Volvo has revealed the new C40 Recharge in India. This is the carmaker’s second all-electric model which sits above the XC40 Recharge.
Volvo C40 Recharge : More Details
The C40 Recharge SUV has a coupe like design. The SUV is identical to the XC40 at the front, but the rear end features a sharply tilted windscreen. At the back, there are LED lights that wrap around the contours. Customers can chose from the following colours – Crystal White Pearl, Fjord Blue, Fusion Red, Onyx Black, Cloud Blue and Sage Green.
On the inside, there is a vertically oriented touchscreen system, a 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel and a digital instrument cluster for the driver. The C40 Recharge also gets a large panoramic sunroof, air purifier, Harman Kardon music system and a wireless phone charger.
Volvo has also equipped the all-electric C40 Recharge with ADAS tech along with a host of driver aids. Not to mention, the car has secured a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating.
Powertrain of the Volvo C40 Recharge
The Volvo C40 Recharge comes with a dual-motor setup. This is shared with the XC40 Recharge. In terms of numbers, the car has 402 BHP and 660 Nm of max torque. Volvo has equipped the SUV with a 78 kWh battery. This offers a maximum range of 530 km on the WLTP cycle. According to the Swedish carmaker, the increased range is thanks to better drag and new battery management system.
The 0-100 km/h time is claimed to be 4.7 seconds.
Launch Timeline of the Volvo C40 Recharge
Volvo has planned for the C40 Recharge to go on sale in August. The deliveries are scheduled from September 2023.
In other news, Volvo has also revealed the EX30 SUV globally. This electric SUV is the smallest car in the company line-up as well as the cheapest. The prices for the EX30 start at US$ 36,145.
