Uber and Tata motors have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). According to the MoU, Uber will deploy 25,000 Xpres-T EVs in its premium category service in cities like Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Ahmedabad. Tata Motors will commence deliveries to Uber fleet partners from this month, albeit in a phased manner.
Tata Motor’s Xpres brand
Under the Xpres Tata Motors aims to differentiate the individual segment from the fleet segment. Tata Motors will introduce various offerings to cater to the needs of the fleet operators under the Xpres. Fleet customers like various state and central government departments, corporates, and mobility services will benefit the most from this new brand. The first vehicle launched under this new brand is the ‘Xpres-T’ EV.

Electric vehicles’ demand in the country is at an all-time high. And Tata Motors has launched the ‘Xpres-T’ EV to leverage this recent spike in demand. The target audience for this sedan is the large fleet operators who are currently making a shift to electric vehicles. Tata Motors mentioned that the all-new Xpres-T would be soon available at select dealerships across the country for bookings. The car comes with two two range options, 277 km and 315 km (ARAI certified).

Tata Motors uses a high-density battery pack of 21.5 kWh and 26 kWh, depending upon the range. This sedan can be charged from 0 to 80 per cent in less than 59 mins or 110 mins using the fast charger, depending upon the variant. This adds a lot of convenience for the customers and helps in alleviating their range fear.
Customers can also use the normal charger to charge their cars using a 15A plug point available at their home or office space. The sedan has all the necessary safety features like dual airbags, ABS with EBD, and more. Tata Motors uses a black interior theme with electric blue inserts, thus differentiating the car from the rest of Tata’s range of products.
