Royal Enfield’s first electric motorcycle, the Flying Flea C6, has been spotted testing in India for the first time. The bike, which made its global debut at EICMA 2024, is now undergoing road trials, hinting at its progress toward production. The Flying Flea C6 is expected to launch in 2026, with pricing potentially benefiting from the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between India and Thailand.

Flying Flea C6 design and features

The Flying Flea C6 pays homage to the original Flying Flea from the 1940s, featuring a forged aluminum girder fork at the front—a rare sight in modern motorcycles. The test mule also showcases articulating mudguards, a round LED headlamp, and retro-style mirrors, reinforcing its vintage appeal.

Underneath its classic design, the Flying Flea C6 is packed with modern technology. It features a mid-mounted permanent magnet electric motor, paired with a belt final drive for smooth performance. While official power figures remain undisclosed, sources suggest it could match the output of a 250cc-300cc petrol motorcycle.

Flying Flea C6 battery pack

The bike is expected to offer multiple battery pack options, catering to different markets. Royal Enfield’s Chief Growth Officer for Electric, Mario Alvisi, previously hinted at a 200 km range, though this may vary based on the variant. The battery pack will support fast charging, ensuring convenience for urban riders.

Spy images reveal that the Flying Flea C6 will ride on 19-inch alloy wheels, wrapped in 90/90 tyres. The rear features a mono-shock suspension, while braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both ends, with dual-channel ABS as standard. The bike will also include cornering ABS, making it the first Royal Enfield to offer such advanced safety features.

Expected pricing

The India-Thailand FTA could play a crucial role in the Flying Flea C6’s pricing strategy. With reduced import duties on components sourced from Thailand, Royal Enfield may be able to price the electric motorcycle competitively against rivals like the Ultraviolette F77 and Tork Kratos R.
