TVS sold of 2,38,983 two-wheelers in April 2021

TVS Motor Company records a total (Two-Wheeler + Three Wheeler) sales of 238,983 units in April 2021. The brand had registered sales of 9,640 units in April 2020. It is important to note that the low sales in the month of April 2020 were due to the nationwide lockdown induced by the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, a Y-O-Y growth is not comparable due to the low base of sales in April 2020.

TVS Motors Two-Wheeler Sales in April 2021

The brand has announced total (Domestic+Export) sales of 226,193 in April 2021. In April 2020, 8,134 units of two-wheelers were sold, due to the lockdown imposed in the country. In the domestic market, TVS sold 131,386 units in April 2021. Out of which, motorcycles registered sales of 133,227 units and scooters registered sales of 65,213 units.

TVS Motors Three-Wheeler Sales in April 2021 and Exports

The brand sold 12,790 units of three-wheelers in April 2021 compared to 1,506 units sold in April 2020. TVS Motor Company registered 107,185 units as exports in April 2021. Out of this, the brand exported 94,807 units of two-wheelers in April 2021. Compared to April 2020, TVS sold 9,640 units in overall exports, out of which 8,134 units were two-wheelers.

The company has also reduced dealer stocks to support the channels and plans to produce to maintain adequate inventories to cater to the pent up demand when markets reopen. The brand also reveals that the domestic sales in April 2021 are lower due to lockdowns in many states.

TVS Motor Company also announced that the brand will be providing free COVID-19 vaccination. This facility will be available for all its employees and immediate family members. TVS Motor Company Limited, Sundaram Clayton Limited, Sundaram Auto Components Limited, TVS Credit Services Limited and Emerald Haven Realty Limited consist of approximately 35,000 direct and indirect employees.

TVS also recently launched the new Pearl Blue Silver colour TVS Star City+ giving customers a new dual-tone colour option on the commuter motorcycle. The brand also launched the 2021 TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, an update with more power and less weight. TVS claims, at 17.63 PS of power 14.73 Nm torque, the 2021 TVS Apache RTR 160 4V is the ‘Most Powerful’ motorcycle in its class.
