TVS sales grew by 27% in June 2021, sold 2,51,886 two-wheelers

TVS Motor Company announces its recent sales report. The company mentioned that it sold 2,51,886 units for June 2021 against 1,98,387 units for the same period last year, thus registering a growth of 27 per cent. In the two-wheeler segment, TVS witnessed a jump in sales from 1,91,076 units in June 2020 to 2,38,092 units in June 2021, which translates to a growth of 25 per cent.

Motorcycle sales stood at 1,46,874 units for June 2021, up from 84,401 units for the same month last year. In the scooter segment, TVS Motor Company registered a total sales of 54,595 units in June 2021 compared to 65,666 units for June 2020. TVS confirmed that the aggregate domestic two-wheeler sales for June 2021 were 1,45,413 units compared to 1,44,817 units in June 2020.

International And Three-Wheeler Business

In the overseas market, TVS exported 1,06,246 units for June 2021, up from 53,123 units in June 2020. The two-wheeler exports stood at 92,679 units for the recent month whereas for June 2020 it was around 46,259 units. The company said that the demand in the international market is healthy, though the unavailability of containers is affecting the overall volumes. The three-wheeler segment of TVS Motor Company registered a growth of 89 per cent. In terms of sales figures, the company sold 13,794 units in June 2021 compared to 7,311 for June 2020.

First Quarter Of FY 2021-21 Sales Performance

For the first quarter of this current financial year, TVS Motor Company garnered a total sales of 6.19 lakh units in the two-wheeler segment. Whereas, for the first quarter of FY 2020-2021, the two-wheeler sales stood at 2.55 lakhs. Similarly, in the three-wheeler segment, the company sold a total of ~39,000 units for the first quarter of this current financial year as against 12,000 units for the same period last year.

TVS Motor Company’s Overseas Presence

In the recent past, TVS Motor Company also announced that the company has crossed the 100,000 unit milestone for exports. The brand has its presence in more than 60 countries worldwide and retails the Apache, the HLX Series and the Stryker series. TVS has also acquired Norton Motorcycles through its overseas vertical in an all-cash deal remuneration of GBP 16 million. The brand is likely to launch premium Norton products in India, under the new brand.
