TVS has the Radeon commuter motorcycle on sale in India which is very popular. The brand has now introduced the Radeon ‘Commuter of the Year’ celebratory special edition as the motorcycle has won quite a few awards in its category. This special edition version will be sold in black with chrome and brown with chrome body colour options. The Radeon ‘Commuter of the Year’ has been priced at INR 55,515 for the drum brake variant and INR 57,615 for the front disc brake variant (ex-showroom Mumbai).
The 2019 Radeon ‘Commuter of the Year’ celebratory special edition comes with additional chrome detailing to give it a premium look. Feature additions include chrome accents around the headlamp, chrome rear view mirrors, new thigh pads on fuel tank, new petrol tank cushion with R branding, chrome cover for the carburetor, new body graphics, tan seat cover, engine casing in gold finish, black alloy wheels, new metallic clutch and brake lever. One can also find chrome accents around the speedometer console, exhaust heat shield and on the rear suspension shroud.
With this, TVS is trying to attract more customers in the commuter motorcycle segment. TVS first launched the Radeon in India in August 2018 and has managed to have over 2 lakh customers on the road.
Powering the TVS Radeon motorcycle is a 109.7cc, single-cylinder, Dura-Life, air-cooled, 4-stroke petrol motor producing 8.4 PS of power @ 7000 RPM and 8.7 Nm of torque @ 5000 RPM matched to a 4-speed gearbox. The motorcycle sports a 10L fuel tank with a claimed fuel efficiency of 6.93 kmpl.
The TVS Radeon rivals the likes of Hero MotoCorp Passion, Bajaj Platina 110 and Honda Dream Yuga. The commuter motorcycle segment drives the most sales for nearly every manufacturer in India. TVS will soon be launching a premium cruiser motorcycle in India to rival the likes of Bajaj Avenger and Suzuki Intruder.
