Tata Motors India has released its sales report for July 2022. The carmaker posted a total sales of 81,790 units compared to 54,119 units in June 2021, thus resulting in a growth of 51 per cent. In the domestic market segment, Tata Motors sold a total of 78,978 units. This figure rose by 51 per cent compared to the July 2021 figure that stood at 52 per cent.
Tata Motors sold a total of 31,473 units in the domestic commercial vehicle segment, up from 21,796 units last year. This results in a jump of 44 per cent. In terms of exports of commercial vehicles, Tata Motors sold a total of 2,681 units to the overseas market. This, when compared to the July 2021 figure, results in a jump of 31 per cent.
Domestic figure sales of MH&HCV in July 2022, including trucks and buses, stood at 12,012 units. Meanwhile, the same for last year July was 7,813 units. Thus the total sales for MH&HCV Domestic and International Business in July 2022, including trucks and buses, stood at 12,974 units. This was 8,749 units for July 2021.
Domestic Passenger Vehicle Sales Breakup
In the Internal Combustion segment, Tata Motors sold a total of 43,493 passenger cars for the Indian market. This, when compared to the July 2021 figure, results in year-over-year growth of 47 per cent. Meanwhile, for the electric segment, the carmaker sold a total of 4,022 units for July 2022. The figure is up from 604 units for July, thus making an astounding 566 per cent growth. All in all, accounting for both ICE and EV, Tata Motors sold a total of 47,505 units for July 2021. Meanwhile, the figure for July 2021 was 30,185, hence a year-over-year growth of 57 per cent.
The growth of the EV segment indicates its increasing popularity. Tata Motors is currently spearheading the four-wheeler electric mobility segment with an array of products in its lineup. As per reports, Tata Motors is already working on adding more EV options to its stable.
