Tata Motors has announced the launch of a new variant for the brand’s much-popular hot-hatchback the Tata Altroz. The new variant on the Tata Altroz is the XM+ which now comes with a host of new features. The Tata Altroz XM+ in the petrol version has been launched at a price of INR 6.6 lakhs ex-showroom, Delhi. The Tata Altroz XM+ will be available in Midtown Grey, Downtown Red, Avenue White and High Street Gold colour options.
The new XM+ variant in the Altrox features a 17.78-cm touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration that provides seamless smartphone connectivity. The Altroz XM+ also features remote foldable key, control mounted steering wheel, voice command recognition and voice alerts. The XM+ also highlights exterior features such as 16-inch wheels with stylized wheel covers.
In terms variants, with the addition of the XM+, the petrol engine is offered with a total of 12 trims and the diesel version is offered with 11 trim options. The Tata Altroz entry-level trim in the petrol avatar is the XE which starts from INR 5.44 ex-showroom, Delhi and the top-of-the-line petrol model is the XZ Urban priced at INR 7.89 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi. The XM+ is the early mid-trim in the petrol Altroz portfolio.
The well-received Altroz premium hatchback is powered by a BS6 compliant 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated three-cylinder engine that produces 86 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed manual transmission. The Altroz also comes with a BS6 compliant 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel motor that produces 90 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed manual transmission. The brand currently does not offer the Altroz with an automatic transmission.
The Tata Altroz was launch in January this year and the hot-hatchback made its debut with the ALFA architecture. The Altroz is designed using the brand’s Impact 2.0 design philosophy and the stylish & premium hatchback features a best-in-class safety quotient with 5-stars at the Global NCAP. The brand has also partnered with Dream11 Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 and as the official partner, the company will showcase the Tata Altroz, throughout the cricket tournament on all grounds and venues across all locations in the United Arab Emirates.
