Earlier this year, Tata had announced the 50,000 sales milestone for the Tata Nexon EV. Now, the Indian carmaker is celebrating another milestone. This time, Tata has clocked 1 lakh sales number for all electric vehicles it has sold. To celebrate this occasion, Tata organised a drone show.

Since the past three years, Tata has seen remarkable growth in EV sales. Infact, the last 50,000 units came in just 9 months.
Furthermore, Tata’s EVs have clocked 1.4 billion km. This distance is equivalent to three round trips around the sun. All this has led to saving of 2,19,432 tons of CO2 emissions. All Tata EV owners have saved over INR 7 billion in fuel bills over this period as well.
Tata’s EV strategy
Tata has revealed details about its ‘Go Beyond’ 3 phase EV strategy. Under this, the carmaker plans to offer multiple body styles along with accessible pricing as well. This would meet the constantly changing needs of the new EV customers. As showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo, Tata will soon bring in cars like the Curvv, Harrier EV, Sierra EV and the Avinya. While these are all concepts, they are expected to spawn production ready models in the near future.
Tata also plans to develop charging infrastructure across the country. This will enable greater movement of EVs pan India. EV owners will get seamless mobility and end their range anxiety. To this end, Tata will be investing much more in the EV ecosystem. This also means creating a robust supply ecosystem for EVs.
Tata Nexon EV : Popular EV from Tata
The success of the Nexon EV has played a significant role in transforming the perception of EVs in India. Previously, EVs were often considered small and undesirable. But the Nexon EV has changed this perception. With a real-world range of 150 to 300 km on a single charge, the Nexon EV is a practical daily-driveable vehicle. Its familiar design, borrowed from the internal combustion engine (ICE) version of the Nexon, has made the transition to electric mobility much smoother for customers.
