Tata Motors has launched the new compact commercial vehicle in India called the Intra. The Tata Intra has a price starting from INR 5.35 lakh and comes in two variants, namely V10 and V20. The most important bit is that the truck comes with a loading body which measures in at 2512mm in length and 1602mm in width.
The truck features seat belt with emergency locking retractor, power steering, electronic instrument cluster, mobile charging point, lockable glovebox, music system, air conditioning system, a dual tone front bumper, chrome-accented rectangular grille, wraparound headlamps and LED tail lamps.
In the engine department, the truck is available in two options and the specifications are as follows:-
- 800cc diesel engine producing 40 BHP of power
- 1.4-litre diesel engine producing 70 BHP of power
Both engines come with a 5-speed gearbox. The engines on the Intra can be upgraded to BSVI standards with ease, when the emission norms roll out next year. The gear lever is mounted on the dashboard to make it more ergonomic and friendly for long distance journeys. The truck rides on leaf spring suspension on both the front and rear rigid axles which improve load carrying capability and keep the maintenance cost low.
The Tata Intra is priced starting at INR 5.35 lakh for the V10 and INR 5.85 lakh for the V20 variant and comes with a 2 years/72,000 km warranty.
