New buyers are prioritizing safety when making a decision to purchase a motor vehicle, and to keep up with the rising trend, Tata Motors has announced that their best selling hatchback, the Tiago, will now be offered with a range of safety features as standard across all variants. The Tiago was Tata’s first product to receive the ‘Impact’ design language and with this safety update, the car will be appreciated in the small car segment.

Further provisions have been made with regards to seat belt warning alert for both driver and co-driver and an over-speed warning. In addition to this, the Tiago will also come equipped with seat belt pre-tensioners and load limiters. The new updated vehicles have been dispatched and will be available at the Tata Motors dealerships.
The Tata Tiago is powered by two engine options a petrol 1.2-litre, three-cylinder engine that produces 85 PS of power @ 6000 RPM and 114 Nm of torque @ 3500 RPM coupled to a 5-speed manual or AMT (Automated Manual Transmission), with multi-drive modes and a diesel 1.05-litre, three-cylinder engine that produces 70 PS of power @ 4000 RPM and 140 Nm of torque @ 1800-3000 RPM mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox with multi-drive modes.
The Tiago is also offered in a performance-oriented model, the Tiago JTP which is powered by a 1.2-litre three-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine producing 114 PS of power @ 5000 RPM and 150 Nm of torque @ 2000-4000 RPM. The Tiago rides on an independent lower wishbone McPherson (dual path) strut-type suspension on the front and a twist beam with coil spring mounted on hydraulic shock absorbers on the rear.
The Tiago measures at 3746mm in length, 1647mm in width, 1535mm in height and a wheelbase of 2400mm. The car can seat 5 people, has a boot space capacity of 242 litres and has a fuel tank capacity of 35 litres.
