Spotted testing on Indian soil, the Renault Zoe electric hatchback is being planned for India. The Zoe is expected to make an Indian debut officially at the 2018 Auto Expo. However, this test car, was being run by Lithium Urban Technologies, a Bangalore based electric cab operator.
The Renault Zoe comes with an electric driving range of 400 km and can be charged from 0-80% in just 65 minutes using a quick charging point. However, the brand reveals that the real world driving range could be around 300 km, and using a standard 7kW charger, the Zoe will take 8-9 hours for a full charge.
The Zoe comes with a 41kWh batteri and has other features such as projector headlamps, 16″ alloy wheels, push button start, leather seats, parking camera, keyless entry, climate control, etc.
Car manufacturers are betting big on electric vehicles for the Indian market. However, the adoption of EVs in our market will take some time as there is not enough infrastructure to support such cars across the country.
