Good news for the one looking to get the Ola S1 e-scooter. The EV maker has introduced the ‘Gerua’ (orange) colour option on its more affordable S1 e-scooter. We do not see any mechanical changes or price revisions with the Ola S1 just as of yet.
Ola S1 New Colours Details
The Ola S1 e-scooter is available in nearly the whole range of colours of the S1 Pro. It misses out on the Freedom edition Khaki green colour. This colour shade was announced to commemorate the Indian armed forces. This addition to the colour palette means that the S1 e-scooter is available in Marshmallow (yellow), Millennial Pink, Anthracite Grey, Midnight Blue and Matt Black. With the addition of new colours, Ola will become even more popular in the EV segment.
Mechanical And Powertrain
Mechanically, Ola’s S1 e-scooter remains the same as before. Thus it carries a 3kWh battery, giving it a claimed IDC range of 141 km in Eco mode. A full charge for the scooter takes 5 hours when plugged into a regular 5A socket. The motor makes the same performance figures as the range-topping S1 Pro. These are 5.5kW (nominal) and 8.5kW (peak) figures. But the S1 is electronically limited to a top speed of 95 kmph. The S1 misses out on a lot of features like cruise control and Hyper mode which are available on the S1 Pro. In fact, weighing 121 kg, the S1 is 4 kg lighter than the S1 Pro.
Price Details
The Ola S currently retails at INR 99,999, thus making it INR 40,000 cheaper than the flagship S1 Pro which is available with an INR 10,000 discount. Noteworthy to mention, Ola also has plans to introduce a heavily reworked, low-cost S1 Air. This will make it onto the roads in Q1 2023, and retail with a price tag of INR 84,999.
