About two weeks back, rumours were that Toyota had stopped taking bookings for the Innova Crysta’s diesel variants. And now, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has released an official statement regarding the same.
TKM’s Official Statement On Innova Crysta Diesel Variant
Toyota Kirloskar Motor states that there’s a very high demand for the Innova Crysta diesel variants. Thus, it has resulted in longer waiting times. As a result of this, TKM has decided to temporarily stop taking orders for the Innova Crysta’s diesel variants. TKM also mentioned that they are working hard to supply vehicles to customers who have already booked vehicles with the dealerships. However, the statement notes that it will continue to take orders for the petrol variant of the Innova Crysta.
Toyota Innova’s Journey
Introduced back in 2005, the Innova has come a long way. From the beginning, it created a niche of its own. It also went on to quickly bag the top spot in its segment. The Innova always remained a notch above its segment. Over the years, the Innova received a host of enhancements, be it luxury, performance or comfort features. Toyota did this in order to meet the ever-changing needs of customers in India.
When Toyota introduced the second-generation Innova, the Innova Crysta, it became a similar success story for the brand. The MPV continues to win customers’ hearts and is still the top pick in its segment. So far, the Innova brand has found its home in almost 1 million Indian households. The Toyota Innova brand is synonymous with quality, durability and reliability. Furthermore, it is preferred by customers from both personal as well as commercial segments.
Toyota will soon expand the Innova range in India with a new model. It will be quite different from the first-gen Innova and the second-generation Innova Crysta. Sources suggest the launch could take place in November 2022.
