Triumph Motorcycles has updated its iconic Thruxton brand for 2023. The 2023 Triumph Thruxton now gets a new paint option. The Thruxton RS is not the only model Triumph has updated for 2023. The brand recently also did a renaming of some of its models. The Triumph Street Twin has now become the Speed Twin 900. However, the Thruxton retains its iconic name.
2023 Triumph Thruxton RS – What’s New?
For 2023 the cafe racer will be available in two colour options. The first colour option is the Jet Black, which it retains from before. However, the new colour option is the Competition Green and Silver Ice. The new colour option includes a dual-tone fuel tank and seat cowl and gold graphic detailing. The colour option also comes with Jet Black mudguards, headlight cowl, and side panels. Meanwhile, the fork protectors feature a Matt Silver Ice finish.
2023 Triumph Thruxton RS – Technical Specifications
Apart from the new colour option, Triumph has not made any changes to the mechanicals of the bike. Powering the Thruxton RS is a 1,200cc liquid-cooled 270-degree crank angle parallel twin. The motor also uses an 8-valve SOHC valvetrain. The max power output figure of the engine reads as 103 HP at 7,500 rpm. Meanwhile, the engine’s maximum torque output is 112 Nm of torque at 4,250 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a multi-plate assist clutch.
The Thruxton RS sports 32-spoke 17-inch aluminium rims with a 120-section front and a 160-section rear tyre. The suspension setup consists of 43 mm Showa Big Piston Forks (BPF) at the front and twin Ohlins shocks with a piggyback reservoir at the back. Both the front and rear suspension offer complete adjustability. Meanwhile, the braking hardware consists of twin 310 mm discs at the front and a 220 mm disc at the rear. The front uses 4-piston radial Brembo M50 monobloc callipers, while the rear uses a two-piston floating Nissin calliper.
