Mercedes-Benz has taken the wraps off its newest electric offering – the EQE SUV. The SUV will be offered in 3 trims and 2 AMG variants. The EQE is also the 8th all-electric vehicle from the German stable.
The base models will get regular suspension with adaptive damping. Customers who want air suspension can opt for the optional upgrade. The AMG models will come with standard air suspension. The EQE also gets electro-mechanical roll stabilisation and four-wheel steering.
Design of the EQE
In terms of the overall design, the EQE resembles its larger sibling – the EQS. That said, it gets a more sloped roofline and an angled tailgate. AMG models get their own design elements, including a Panamerica-based grille, redesigned numbers and different alloy wheel designs.
The EQE gets five seats and comes with a choice of 2 interior designs. In the pricier option, the dashboard gets a 1,410 mm full-width hyperscreen consisting of 3 displays combined into one single unit.
Powertrain options for the EQE
The base EQE 350+ trims will be offered with a single motor, and rear-wheel drive configuration. It will develop 292 HP and 565 Nm of torque and get a WLTP range of 590 km.
The next trim, EQE 350 4Matic, gets a dual motor, all-wheel drive, and the power output is 292 HP and 765 Nm of torque. It has a certified range of 558 km (WLTP cycle).
The highest non-AMG trim, the EQE 500 4Matic, gets 408 HP and 858 Nm of torque with a range of 547 km on the WLTP test cycle. This variant, too, receives a dual-motor setup.
The Mercedes-AMG EQE 53 4Matic+ develops 625 HP and 950 Nm of torque. It also gets an optional Dynamic Plus package that pushes up the power output to 687 HP and 1,000 Nm. The 0-100 km/h time of this variant with the Dynamic Package is 3.5 seconds, with a top speed of 240 km/h.
