Rumours suggest that Mercedes-Benz is planning to bump up the power and torque figures for the A-Class and B-Class.
Mercedes recently launched the GLA 200 CDI which is powered by the same 2,143cc diesel engine but produces 134 BHP of power and 300 Nm of torque. Reports suggest that the company will plonk the engine in a similar state of tune in the A and B Class going forward. Currently the same engine in the A and B Class produces 107 BHP of power and 250 Nm of torque. Although these figures are adequate, the performance on tap is a little below the mark for the enthusiasts and considering the price at which these cars are being sold.
If this move does take place, the A and B Class would become much more fun to drive. Also, there should not be significant changes in prices given that the engine is only expected to be tuned for better performance, without too much of mechanical changes.
