Maruti Suzuki will be launching the premium version of the Ertiga dubbed as the XL6 later this month. The brand has started accepting bookings for the XL6 premium MPV officially from their website and also the Nexa showrooms. The Maruti Suzuki XL6 will be launched in India with a K15 BSVI petrol powered engine with SHVS technology.
Maruti Suzuki has revealed that the XL6 will be launched in manual as well as automatic gearbox options. The brand claims that this will be the first premium MPV from them and will offer comfort, convenience and ruggedness while being able to carry 6 passengers. This new XL6 will be a 6-seater only, unlike the Ertiga which is a 7-seater model.
The XL6 is based on the 5th generation HEARTECT chassis and will come with the Nexa safety shield which includes dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, front seat belt pre-tensioner and force limiters, ISOFIX, hill hold assist, ESP, high speed warning, reverse parking sensors, and front occupant seat belt reminder.
The Maruti Suzuki XL6 will have a heavily reprofiled front fascia which will help differentiate it from the Ertiga. The XL6 will come with features such as LED headlamp, LED DRLs, LED fog lamps, body cladding, new alloy wheels, new chrome studded grille, new front and rear bumpers, new LED tail lamps, leather upholstery, black interiors, captain seats in the 2nd row and more…
The 2019 Maruti Suzuki XL6 will be 50mm longer, 40mm wider and 10mm taller. The 1.5L petrol engine on offer will produce 105 HP of power and 138 Nm of torque. The engine will have a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic gearbox on offer. There is no diesel engine on offer at the time of launch. The XL6 will be launched only in Zeta and Alpha variants.
The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is sold via the Arena showrooms for the mass market and the XL6 on the other hand will cater to the premium car enthusiast looking for a stylish family MPV.
