Good news for the upcoming Maruti Suzuki customers. As reported, all Maruti Suzuki products i.e., all hatchbacks, sedans, MPVs, SUVs, and commercial vehicles are now compliant with both the newBS6 Phase-II Real Driving Emissions (RDE) regulations as well as being compatible with E20 fuel as well.
We are aware that the RDE norms came into effect in India on April 1, 2023. And this is a part of Bharat Stage 6 Phase II emissions norms. Under these regulations, we are aware that all cars follow both the MIDC (Modified Indian Test Cycle) in the lab as well as in real-world conditions on the road. Thus the two figures are then correlated, by adding a conformity factor.
What Is The New RDE Compliance?
The new RDE-compliant Maruti Suzuki cars also feature an On-board Diagnostics (OBD) tech. This monitors the emission control systems of the car in real time. In fact, it will also notify drivers in case of any malfunction. The new Maruti Suzuki BS6 Phase II compliant cars also come equipped with a significant safety update. We say so because Maruti Suzuki has equipped them with an Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system. And this is applicable across a range of products including Hatchbacks, Sedans, MPVs, and SUVs.
Safety Is Of Paramount Importance For Maruti Suzuki
Maruti Suzuki India also mentioned that the Government of India’s eagerness to incorporate the new BS6 Phase II norms is a great step ahead. This will go a long way in controlling emissions from automobiles over their lifespan. In fact, this move also allowed Maruti Suzuki cars and SUVs to become safer than ever before. As they come equipped with an ESC. With the safety factor improving, this improves all the overall safety factors of Indian roads. We say so given the massive market share of Maruti Suzuki in the Indian market.
