Mahindra is all set to fire up the mass market EV segment with the introduction of new variants for its XUV400. This move not only enhances the existing features but also sets the stage for the upcoming XUV300 facelift and the Thar 5-door. Mahindra’s foray into the electric SUV space with the Mahindra XUV400 earlier this year gained momentum with a recent update that addressed some missing elements.
Mahindra XUV400 Pro – What’s Expected?
The current lineup includes the XUV400 with EC and EL trim levels, and the new Pro variants will be extensions of these trims. The EC Pro and EL Pro variants are anticipated to bring long-awaited features, addressing gaps observed in the curre XUV400. A significant addition is the introduction of rear AC vents, a feature notably absent in the current XUV400. This inclusion is expected to extend to the XUV300 facelift as well. EL Pro variants boast improvements in the infotainment and instrumentation domains, featuring a 10.25-inch infotainment screen equipped with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The system operates on the Adrenox Connect UI and incorporates Alexa voice assistant. Additionally, there’s a wireless charger and a USB charging port in the rear.
The instrumentation should receive an upgrade to a fully digital 10.25-inch screen, offering a modern experience. The XUV400 would also get dual-zone climate control, a feature initially present in the XUV300 variants. The top-spec EL Pro model will boast a new dashboard and steering wheel, expected to make their way to the XUV300 facelift. Alongside these changes, a new shark-fin antenna is also expected to be added.
Measuring 4,200 mm in length, 1,821 mm in width, and boasting a 2,600 mm wheelbase with a 378L boot, the XUV400 offers substantial space and practicality. Potential dual-tone colors could join the existing palette, including Arctic Blue, Everest White, Galaxy Grey, Napoli Black, and Infinity Blue with a dual-tone roof option in Satin Copper finish.
The XUV400 pro variants are expected to be equipped with a powerful motor that produces 148 hp power and 310 Nm torque, coupled with a 34 kWh battery pack in EC Pro and a 39.5 kWh battery in both EC Pro and EL Pro. The XUV400 delivers a real-world range of 250 km with the 34 kWh pack and 290 km with the 39.4 kWh pack.
