Lamborghini India has announced that the brand has launched the new Huracan STO in the Indian market at the price of INR 4.99 crore ex-showroom. Lamborghini, on 20th December 2021, showcased the prowess of the Huracan STO at the Buddh International Race Circuit in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The road-legal supercar is developed by Lamborghini’s Motorsport team Squadra Corse, and feels home at the race track. Lamborghini Squadra Corse has combined the prowess of the Super Trofeo and GT3, creating a one-of-a-kind road car born from the race track.
Lamborghini Huracan STO – Design Highlights and Aerodynamics
The Lamborghini Huracan STO features an entirely new exterior design, and revised inimitable Lamborghini profile. The Huracan STO draws its design inspiration from the Squadra Corse race cars and integrates comprehensive aerodynamic solutions. The car features an aesthetic design thanks to Lamborghini’s Centro Stile departments, and the design follows function valid for a street-homologated car inspired by a race car.
The front bonnet, fenders and the front bumper feature one single ‘cofango’ created by Lamborghini engineers combines the ‘cofano’ (hood) and ‘parafango’ (fender). The bumper elements are inspired by the Lamborghini Miura and more recent Sesto Elemento. The new air ducts not only improve the airflow through the central radiator but also help generate downforce on the vehicle. The brand also offers a NACA air intake integrated into the STO’s rear fender and a shortened duct allowing a 30% decrease in static pressure losses.
The rear engine also gets a bonnet integrated with an air scoop to improve air-cooling at the rear underhood. The rear bonnet also gets air deflectors, integrated in the rear bonnet’s frame. The STO also gets a ‘shark fin’ on the rear bonnet, improving the dynamic abilities of the supercar. The Huracan STO also gets a manual, easily adjusted aero set-up of the new rear wing. This optimizes the aerodynamic balance and drag resistance of the vehicle.
Lamborghini Huracan STO also has carbon fibre in more than 75% of its exterior panels. Lamborghini has also adopted a carbon fibre ‘sandwich’ technique utilized in the aerospace industry that uses 25% less carbon fibre material while maintaining the same structural rigidity. The Huracan STO is 43 less compared to the already lightweight Huracan Performante, with a dry weight of just 1,339 kg.
Lamborghini Huracan STO – Engine Specifications and Performance
Powering the Lamborghini Huracan STO is a 5.2-litre naturally-aspirated V10 engine. The engine produces 640 Hp of power and 565 Nm of torque. The car comes with Lamborghini’s MagneRide 2.0 suspension with an increased wheel track, stiffer suspension bushing, specific anti-roll bars. The brand also offers Lamborghini rear-wheel steering, and three new ANIMA driving modes. The Huracan STO also features Brembo CCM-R brakes with 60% higher stress resistance and 25% improved braking power.
