Jeep Compass gets expensive in India

According to sources, Jeep India has increased the prices of the Compass range from 1st September 2022. In addition to this, the brand has also revised the variant lineup. Apart from this, there are no new changes to the features or powertrain.

Jeep Compass – Price Revision

The increase in price is about INR 90,000, depending on the variant. These new prices came into effect on 1st September 2022. Pricing for the Jeep Compass now starts at INR 19.29 lakh ex-showroom. Meanwhile, the top-spec Compass Trailhawk now costs INR 32.22 lakh ex-showroom. Here’s the detailed pricing for the petrol variants –

Additionally, as per reports, Jeep India has also discontinued the Longitude (O) variant from the SUV’s lineup. The variant was earlier available in 4×2 MT and 4×2 DDCT versions. Hence, after the base Sport variant, the next variant is the Night Eagle variant. The Night Eagle variant sits between the base Sport variant and the 5th Anniversary Edition variant.

Jeep Compass – Powertrain

Jeep offers the Compass with almost all combinations. There are diesel, petrol, manual, and automatic as well as 4×2 and 4×4 variants. The engine options include a 1.4-litre MultiAir turbo-petrol mill that makes 163 HP and 250 Nm. It is available with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. Meanwhile, powering the diesel is a 2.0-litre MultiJet II unit that makes 170 HP and 350 Nm of torque. The diesel also comes with a 6-speed manual as standard. Additionally, customers can opt for a 9-speed torque converter automatic. Unlike the petrol Compass, the diesel is also available with 4×4.
