Jaguar XE and XF have arrived in their sportier avatar in the form of the 300 Sport edition. Both the sedans now get a mild-hybrid setup, the same as the one we saw with the F-Pace 300 and 400 Sport models. There’s no V8 or straight-six motor, and Jaguar is making use of the four-cylinder Ingenium petrol engine. The performance figure of the motor reads as 296 BHP and 400 Nm. This ensures a 0 to 100 kmph sprint in under 5.9 seconds for the XE. Meanwhile, the XF Sedan and Sportbrake take 6.1 and 6.2 seconds respectively.
What Changes Do We See?
The 300 Sport also gets an all-wheel-drive setup. In the aesthetics department, the sedan makes use of a gloss black contrast roof and privacy glass. Jaguar’s Black Pack adds to the stealthy look of the sedan. Customers have the choice of opting for the 20-inch alloys in Dark Satin Grey on the SE or choose from Gloss Silver, Gloss Black or the optional alternatives on the XF.
Jaguar has also added a mild-hybrid diesel option in the lineup. This ensures a performance figure of 201 BHP and 430 Nm, both in the rear or all-wheel drive. The 48-volt hybrid tech aids the car in acceleration. The equipped gearbox is an eight-speed automatic transmission unit. Furthermore, Jaguar also claims that this enhances fuel efficiency greatly.
There’s also a 247 BHP four-cylinder petrol engine on offer. This only gets a rear-wheel-drive option. The 0 to 100 kmph timing of this sedan is 6.7 seconds, which is a couple of tenths slower than the XF. Similar to the F-Pace, the sedan also gets the Amazon Alexa upgrade. With this, customers can now use voice control with the improved Pivi Pro touchscreen system.
