Is this the new 2023 Maruti Suzuki Eeco?

Written by Rohit Tonapi

Maruti Suzuki launched the Eeco in 2010, and since then, it has been on the list of bestselling passenger cars in India consistently. Customers preferred the model for its practicality, simplicity and low maintenance costs. We recently reported that Maruti Suzuki would launch the updated version of the Eeco around September of this year. And now, a good three to four months ahead of its speculated launch, we have new leaked images of the upcoming Eeco.

2023 Maruti Suzuki Eeco Leaked Images – Details

The new Eeco’s exterior will largely remain the same as the current one. Like on the current Eeco, fog lights will not be standard equipment. The sides and the rear of the car also remain largely the same. The Eeco will continue to offer flat body panels and a boxy design.

However, to freshen things up, we could get new colour options. Additionally, the new Eeco could also get new graphics. The current Eeco is available in five colour options – Metallic Silky Silver, Metallic Glistening Grey, Pearl Midnight Black, Solid White and Cerulean Blue.

Maruti Suzuki will focus more on the interiors than the exterior. Visible in the images are new captain seats for the second row. These seats will most likely be available in the top-end variants of the vehicle. The inclusion of this will help the MPV deliver a much better family car experience. Other new feature additions could include power steering and air conditioning as standard. The company will most likely also improve the fit and finish of the car for a more premium feel.

Safety features will likely remain the same. Currently, the Eeco offers a driver airbag, ABS with EBD, and a reverse parking sensor system as standard. Additionally, it also gets the mandatory speed alert system.

2023 Maruti Suzuki Eeco – Expected Powertrain

There is no confirmation regarding the engine of the new Eeco. If it does get a new engine, the focus will be on fuel efficiency. As of now, the Eeco uses a 1.2-litre G12B petrol engine. The motor produces 73 PS and 98 Nm of torque. The engine also comes in a CNG version. When running on CNG, it produces 63 PS and 85 Nm of torque. All variants of the Eeco come with a 5-speed manual transmission. The petrol engine delivers fuel efficiency of 16.11 kmpl. At the same time, the CNG delivers 20.88 km/kg.
