Hyundai Venue might have been the last entrant in the compact-SUV race, but it has already taken the top spot. Just within a month of its launch, the Hyundai Venue has managed to get the top spot in the segment against rivals which include the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport, Mahindra XUV300, Mahindra TUV300 and the likes.
With sales of 9,585 units in July 2019, the Hyundai Venue is not only the best-selling compact-SUV, but also the best-selling utility vehicle in the country. The previous segment leader, the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza managed sales of 5,032 units in July 2019. It has to be noted that the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is now due for a facelift, so the brand will give it some flare to come back and give the segment a tough fight again for the top spot.
The Hyundai Venue has also become the best-selling Hyundai car in the brands portfolio leaving behind cars which cost less including the Santro, Grand i10 & the Elite i20. This projects a promising story for brand Hyundai that customers are willing to pay more for a better product. The Hyundai Venue has managed to get over 50,000 bookings already, within 2 months since launch and the brand reveals that most of the customers are opting for the top model or the DCT automatic which comes with a new petrol engine.
Pricing for the Hyundai Venue in India starts at INR 6.50 lakh for the base 1.2L petrol trim and climbs all the way up to INR 11.11 lakh for the top variant. These are introductory prices, so expect a marginal bump in a few months time.
The Hyundai Venue comes with 3 engine options to our market. A 1.2L, 4-cylinder petrol motor producing 83 PS of power and 115 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed manual gearbox. A 1.4L diesel motor producing 90 PS of power and 220 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed manual gearbox. And an all-new 1.0L, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol motor producing 120 PS of power and 171 Nm of torque matched to either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission.
