Hyundai has teased a new N-Line variant for its most popular SUV, the Creta. The new teaser was uploaded on a social media platform by the company. The sportier variant of the Creta will go on sale in the South American market as early as next month.
Hyundai Creta N-Line Teaser – What Do We Know?
The new variant of the Creta will initially go on sale in the South American market. Confirming this is the teaser image that Hyundai Brazil posted. However, the teaser does not reveal much. The image only confirms an N-Line badge on the grille. Though, we also get a hint of the grille’s design. We can also confirm that the new N-Line Creta will be based on the pre-facelift model sold in South America. Additionally, that means the market won’t get the facelift model on sale in Indonesia.
Leaked patent images also confirm the same. Additionally, they also give us an idea of what to expect from the Creta N-Line. Like the i20 N-Line and other N-Line models on sale internationally, the update will be cosmetic. According to sources, there will be a new front grille and bumper. The bumper of the N-Line Creta will be taller than the standard model. Also, the inserts will get a chequered flag design. However, the front grille will be smaller and sport a design similar to the new Tucson. The rear bumper will also get a similar treatment as the front one. Other exterior tweaks will also include different N-Line alloy wheels.
The interior updates will also be like the ones we see with the Indian i20 N-Line. Hence, the Creta N-Line will get a different steering wheel, aluminium pedals and N-Line upholstery with contrast stitching and more.
Hyundai Creta N-Line – Expected Powertrain
The company’s N-Line updates are usually limited just to aesthetics. Hence, we don’t expect the Creta N-Line to get any updates under the hood. In the South American markets, the Creta comes with a 2.0-litre petrol engine. The same engine is also available in India with the Alcazar. It is most likely the Creta N-Line could continue to use the same engine in the South American market.
Hyundai Creta N-Line – Indian Launch
The N-Line sub-brand made its debut in India with the latest generation of the i20. According to sources, Hyundai will soon be bringing its first N-Line SUV to India. However, this won’t be the Creta N-Line, but the Venue N-Line. The Venue facelift will debut next month along with an N-Line variant. As for the Creta N-Line, the model will make its debut in June 2022 in Brazil. The chances of Hyundai bringing it to India are high. However, we will have to wait and see when that happens.
