Honda has been a leading automotive manufacturer of premium cars in India since December 1995. Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) serves the domestic and export markets with its corporate offices located in Greater Noida and UP. However, in the recent past, the brand has been lacking performance in the sales department, due to lack of products for the Indian market. But now, the brand has officially announced the Elevate SUV, which would debut in June 2023 to rival the likes of Hyundai Creta in India.
Units Sales in April 2023
Honda Cars India registered 5,313 units of sales in April 2023 out of which 2,363 units belonged to export sales for the same month. Referring to data back in April 2022, the company had registered 7,874 domestic sales and exported 2,042 units.
Honda’s Range of Products
Honda has provided the Indian market with hatchbacks, compact sedans, premium sedans and SUVs. Honda Cars India has managed to sell its products like Honda Amaze, Honda City, Honda Jazz, Honda Civic, Honda Accord, Honda CR-V and Honda WR-V in the recent past.
Honda Amaze being a compact sedan and loved by Indian customers has a 1.2L i-VTEC petrol engine. A 1199cc engine produces 110 Nm torque at 4,800 rpm. 66ps power at 6000 rpm is produced by the engine. The mileage of the Honda Amaze is 18.6 km/l. The engine is BS6-compliant and offers great fuel efficiency and performance.
Honda City is a popular midsize sedan in the Indian market and has a 1.5 i-VTEC petrol engine. 1498cc engine that produces 145 Nm of torque at 4300 rpm. Enhanced with a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic. Producing 89 Ps power at 6600 rpm, City provides the mileage of 17.4 km/l in manual and 18.4 km/l in automatic variants. With recent updates, City has become one of the top sellers and remains a top choice in the sedan segment.
Honda now also has a used car vertical Honda Auto Terrace, where Honda offers a one-stop solution for selling and buying pre-owned cars. The services give an assurance of quality and peace of mind to customers.
