Honda had discontinued the Jazz hatchback in India in 2012. Seems like the re-launch is now facing some issues due to shortage in production capacity. Honda had revealed that they would launch the Jazz in this fiscal year, but seems like the high market demand for the City and Mobilio is keeping them on their toes and there is no place to accommodate the premium hatchback.
There is no fixed date or quarter mentioned for the launch of the Jazz in 2015, but we expect it to hit the streets by mid-2015.
The new Jazz has a completely new body style and looks very different from the previous model. The new Jazz gets a bolder front grille, sharp front and rear bumpers, twin-pot headlamp setup, prominent shoulder lines, big chrome strip on the tailgate etc. On the inside, the dashboard is similar to what we have seen on the new City. Interior space is expected to be best in class, just like the older model.
Honda could launch the Jazz with a petrol and diesel engine and also a CVT gearbox option on the petrol version.
Pricing is expected to be in the range of Rs. 5.5 – 7.5 lakh.
