Now spotted in a prototype stage, this is the upcoming Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250. In a bid to be present across multiple segments owing to diminishing sales, this could be a lucrative motorcycle given the adventure touring segment is expanding worldwide with more and more riders opening up to explore more on two-wheels. The Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 will be a rival to the likes of Ducati Multistrada 1260 & the BMW R 1250 GS.
The bike which will be sold worldwide from the end of this year or by early-2020 was displayed along with optional accessories such as headlamp grille, aux lamps, handlebar grips with heating, louder exhaust, engine bash plate, pannier mounts and panniers, etc. The final production-ready Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 is expected to make a debut at INTERMOT or EICMA shows in 2019.
While we do not know the exact engine specifications, the Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 will come with a 1250cc liquid-cooled V-Twin motor along with the latest electronic riding aids such as traction control, riding modes, ABS, etc.
The prototype reveals that the bike will have the rear sub frame exposed, neatly covered exhaust from the head area, upswept exhaust end can, semi fairing design around the headlamp in contrast paint, LED headlamp and tail lamps, clear front windscreen, knuckle guards, knobby tyres, spoked rims, USD front forks with covers, split and step-up seats, crash bars around the radiator and engine for protection, fuel tank with plastic cladding in the centre, rectangular rear view mirrors and more…
Expect this motorcycle to come to India sometime in 2020. Pricing could be upwards of INR 20 lakh on-road, as this bike might most probably be introduced as a CBU.
