Ford has launched the BS6 emission compliant range of petrol and diesel vehicle in India with the 2020 Ford Figo prices starting at INR 5.39 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi. The BS6 compliant petrol and diesel engines will be available on the Ford Figo, Ford Freestyle and the Ford Aspire across all trim variants showcasing the brand’s commitment towards the Govt. of India’s stringent emission standards and to deliver affordable products to their customers.
After the 2020 Ford Figo, the 2020 BS6 Ford Freestyle has also been launched at the price of INR 5.89 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi. The 2020 Ford Aspire starts at INR 5.99 lakh while the prices on the top trim Titanium+ has been revised and from INR 7,82,400 to INR 7,44,000 on the petrol engine variant and the diesel variant prices have come down from INR 8,62,400 to INR 8,34,000. The Ford Aspire diesel entry-level variant specially created for fleet car owners is offered at INR 7.07 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi. The Titanium+ trim of the 2020 Ford Freestyle in its BS6 avatar also gets its prices revised from INR 7,56,400 to INR 7,29,000 on the petrol variant and from INR 8,36,900 to INR 8,19,000 on the BS6 diesel model.
The prices on the BS6 models are surprisingly either unchanged or slashed and the brand claims that this trend in price is due to its efforts with streamlining the features and increased localisation.
The Ford Figo, Freestyle and Aspire are powered by BS6 compliant 1.2-litre three-cylinder Ti-VCT petrol engine that produces 96 ps of power and 119 Nm of torque mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Another engine on offer is the BS6 compliant 1.5l TDCi diesel engine that generates 100 ps power and 215 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed manual transmission.
The 2020 Ford Figo, Freestyle and Aspire also get features like a touchscreen infotainment system with built-in navigation, push-button start, electrochromic mirror, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps and up to 6-airbags etc.
Ford also offers FordPass a connectivity feature that will now come factory fitted and available across all BS6 compliant variants. FordPass is a cloud-connected device that allows the car to communicate with the user using the FordPass mobile-based application. Using FordPass vehicle owner can remotely – lock or unlock the vehicle, know remaining fuel levels and distance to empty and locate their vehicle.
The 2020 line-up is also offered with a 3-year or 1,00,000 km factory warranty as standard part of the pack. Ford also claims to have longer service intervals at 10,000 kms than most of its competitors further making the ownership costs affordable.
