Electric two-wheelers that do not need a riding license in India

With the growing number of electric vehicles, India has become one of the largest markets in the EV segment. The electric mobility sector is also gaining popularity as more and more companies join in and launch their products. Interestingly, there’s also a segment of EVs that do not need registration. One can ride one of these without having a driving licence. These electric vehicles fall under the low-speed category. An electric two-wheeler with a power output of fewer than 250 watts and a top speed of less than 25 kmph is categorised as an electric bicycle or E-bike under the Central Motor Vehicle Rules (CMVR). The Jaunty Pro is for someone looking for the perfect mix of style and character. Highlighting features include an electronic assisted braking system and stylish headlamps. Furthermore, it also comes with alloy wheels as standard.

Hop Leo And Hop Lyf

Both the above offerings from Hop get a high-performance Li-ion battery. They are also available in both standard and long-range versions. Hence, offering much flexibility. Depending on the trim, one can expect a range of 70 to 127 km per single charge. Highlighting features include automatic parking assistance, reverse gear for an easy park in-park out, USB charging, remote key, a side stand sensor, anti-theft alarm, and anti-theft wheel lock attributes.

Hero Electric

If you’re looking for more of a conventional design scooter, then Hero Electric Optima E5 is the one for you. This electric scooter from Hero is also available in both a lithium-ion battery and a lead-acid battery pack. It gets a large seat and also 16-inch alloy wheels, telescopic front forks and a mono-shock with drum brakes on both wheels.

Hero Electric Flash E2

The Flast E2 is the second offering from Hero Electric in the low-speed scooter category. It gets a hub-mounted 250-watt electric motor with a 48-volt 28Ah lithium-ion battery pack. Weighing at just 69 kilograms, Flash E2 is perfect for running daily errands to nearby places.
