Italian bikemaker Ducati has expanded its Scrambler 800 lineup with the launch of the Scrambler Urban Motard in the country. Ducati says the motorcycle features a contemporary look and is designed for younger fans of the brand and for all those looking for an easy, fun and sporty bike.
The newest Scrambler in town will retail at INR 11.49 lakh ex-showroom. The brand says deliveries will commence from today across all Ducati India dealerships.
Ducati Scrambler 800 Urban Motard – Highlights
The Scrambler Urban Motard comes with only one colour option – Star White Silk and Red GP’19. It also gets a black frame and a dedicated black seat with a red tag. The original livery of the bike also draws inspiration from street art and urban graffiti. Ducati created the Urban Motard to experience the city environment. Furthermore, Ducati says this is where the bike will turn heads through a combination of style, sportiness and fun.
Ducati chose the Urban Motard name as it refers to large cities’ atmospheres and aims at young enthusiasts. The Urban Motard comes with a teardrop-shaped steel tank with interchangeable aluminium panels. Other highlights include a high front mudguard, spoked wheels, an LED headlight with DRL and also an LED taillight. The instrument console features an LCD screen with fuel level and gear indicators. The console also gets an interchangeable aluminium frame.
Ducati Scrambler 800 Urban Motard – Technical Highlights
Like a typical Ducati, the Scrambler Urban Motard uses a desmodromic L-twin engine. The 803cc air-cooled motor produces 73 HP of power at 8,250 rpm and 67 Nm of torque at 5,750 rpm. The motorcycle also has a dry weight of 180 kg. Thus, its lightweight and torque output offers brilliant performance that is not intimidating for the rider.
As for the chassis, it uses a tubular trellis steel frame in a black finish. KYB forks and shock handle suspension duties at both ends. The Urban Motard rides on 17-inch spoked wheels. As for the tyres, it uses 120/70 front and 180/55 rear Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tyres. Also standard on the Urban Motard is Bosch’s Cornering ABS.
