Premium motorcycle manufacturer Ducati has launched the smallest MultiBike in the brand’s portfolio, the Ducati Multistrada 950 S at the price of INR 15.49 lacs ex-Showroom Pan India. The brand had opened bookings for the Multistrada 950 S last week at the price of INR 100,000. Furthermore, the Ducati Multistrada 950 S will be available on display across all Ducati dealerships in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Kochi, Kolkata, and Chennai. The brand has also announced it will commence deliveries from the second week of November.
The Ducati Multistrada 950 S is not only more accessible to a wide range of audience, but it also comes in a versatile package and now for the first time, but the entry-level Multistrada is also being offered with a series of improvements and ‘super-technological’ features in the S version. The Electronics package now includes a Ride-by-Wire throttle, Ducati Traction Control (DTC), Vehicle Hold Control (VHC), a semi-active Ducati Skyhook Suspension (DSS) which continuously adjusts fork and rear shock absorber, Ducati Quick Shift up/down (DQS), Ducati Cornering Lights (DCL) and Cruise Control. The Multistrada also comes with a full-LED headlight, 5″ colour TFT display, a Hands-Free System, Cruise Control, backlit switchgear controls and the option to mount the Ducati Multimedia System (DMS).
The electronics package is further enhanced by the Brembo braking system with the ABS 9.1ME Cornering device, Ducati Safety Pack (DSP), Bosch IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) to optimise the front and rear bias in critical situations, for Cornering ABS function even at considerable lean angles. The system also interacts with Riding Modes and provides solutions that are suitable for any situation or riding condition. The highway touring motorcycle also comes with two 12 V power sockets, to power items such as thermal clothing, intercoms or mobile phone chargers. Also, a Garmin sat-nav is available as a Ducati Performance accessory powered via a dedicated connector.
The Ducati Multistrada 950 S id powered by a BS6 emissions-compliant 937cc liquid-cooled Testastretta 11-degree L-twin cylinder engine with Desmodromic valve distribution that produced 113 PS of power and 96 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed transmission and a self-servo wet slipper clutch with a hydraulic control system. The Multistrada 950 engine has maintenance intervals of 15,000 km, with valve clearance inspection at every 30,000 km.
In terms of design, the Multistrada 950 S draws combined inspiration from the Multistrada 1260 and Multistrada 1260 Enduro mixing and matching the elements resulting in an ergonomic “triangle” that guarantees comfort and control for rider and passenger alike.
