Bookings for the DC Avanti are now open. The car will come with a ex-showroom price tag of Rs. 35 lakh and the booking amount for the Indian supercar will be Rs. 5 lakh. Deliveries for the Avanti are expected to commence by early 2015.
The Avanti will be produced at DC’s facility in Talegaon near Pune.
The DC Avanti will be powered by a 2.0L, Ecoboost, 4-cylinder, turbocharged, direct injection petrol engine producing 250 BHP of power @ 5,500 RPM and 366 Nm of torque @ 3,500 RPM. Engine is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The sportscar is built on a tubular space frame chassis and gets double wishbones and coil over shock absorbers.
The car measures 4,623mm in length, 1,967mm in width, 1,213mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,700mm. Ground clearance is at a healthy 170mm and the car weighs 1,562 kg.
