Citroen has unveiled its first all-electric offering for the Indian market, the eC3. The company also mentioned that the bookings for the new EV will open on January 22.
Design Language
The Citroen eC3 is the all-electric version of the C3 crossover, which aims to take the EV market by storm. The EV looks very much identical to the ICE version. Even the front fascia is pretty similar to and has been carried over. Interestingly the e-C3 does not feature a blanked-off grille like most other EVs.
Variants On Offer
The Citroen eC3 will come in two variants. They are namely Live and Feel. On the inside, the eC3 gets a 3-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, height adjustable driver’s seat and more. The eC3 additionally comes with connected car tech with the MyCitroen Connect app with 35 features. With this customers can you check the car’s charging status and its location and navigate to the nearest charging station. As far as safety features go, eC3 gets dual airbags and ABS with EBD. The eC3 comes with a 29.2 kWh battery pack and a 3.3 kW onboard AC charger. It sends power to a front-mounted electric motor that makes 56 BHP and 143 Nm.
Performance And Range
According to Citroen, the eC3 can accelerate from 0-60 km/h in just 6.8 seconds. Meanwhile, it has a top speed of 107 km/h. It comes with an ARAI-certified range of 320 km. Citroen mentioned that it takes 10.5 hours to charge the battery using a home charger. But when using a DC fast charger it will take just 57 minutes to charge from 10-80 percent.
Warranty Plans On The eC3
The Citroen eC3 also comes with a 3-year / 1,25,000 km warranty. Besides this, Citroen is also offering a 7-year / 1,40,000 km warranty on the battery pack and 5 year / 1,00,000 km warranty on the electric motor.
