Ashok Leyland hands over 200 trucks to Government of Bangladesh

Indian commercial vehicle manufacturer Ashok Leyland has announced that it will deliver 200 trucks to the Government of Bangladesh. As the flagship of the Hinduja Group, the company will participate in a large-scale project from India via these trucks. Meanwhile, the honourable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, announced a USD 2 billion line of credit for Ashok Leyland. Ashok Leyland reiterated the fact that Bangladesh is one of their key export markets to de-risk from cyclicality in India.

Partnership with the Government of Bangladesh 

Based on the tender floated by the Bangladesh Government, Ashok Leyland delivered 135 Fully Built Trucks from India. These exported trucks consisted of the 3T Truck, Hydraulic Beam Lifter, and Sewerage Sucker for the Roads and Highways Department. During the current FY, Ashok Leyland offered the Bangladesh Government with another 65 units of the Truck Mounted Wrecker. The Government of Bangladesh will deploy this specialised vehicle to conduct various operations across numerous highways in their country.

By having more than 50 touchpoints across the nation, Ashok Leylands is one of Bangladesh’s leading commercial vehicle brands. The brand supplies vehicles from India as well as assembling its wide range of trucks, buses, and LCV vehicles. Ashok Leyland assembles these products locally at the IFAD Auto Dhamrai Plant in Bangladesh in order to strengthen its position. The brand has announced that it will increase its volume of exports for overseas markets like SAARC, GCC, and Africa.

Other News 

Ashok Leyland recently launched its all-new ecomet STAR 1415 7 cubic metre Tipper truck in India on 2nd February 2022. Enhancing its Intermediate Commercial (ICV) Vehicle portfolio, the truck joins Ashok Leyland’s two other trucks from its ICV Tipper range. This includes the previously launched ecomet STAR 1015 Tipper truck (5 cubic metres) and the 1215 Tipper truck (6 cubic metres).

The new ecomet STAR 1415 will serve multiple purposes, such as the transportation of sand, bricks, and Blue metal. Along with transporting Construction material, the truck will also assist in carrying materials for the construction of roads in India. Ashok Leyland claims that the all-new Tipper truck will showcase enhanced performance, fuel efficiency, and low maintenance for its owners.
